Watford and Three Rivers Trust launches Neighbours Together to help older people stay socially active
Watford and Three Rivers Trust is asking local residents to get involved in its innovative project, Neighbours Together, which aims to tackle loneliness in older people. Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, the idea behind Neighbours Together is to foster a spirit of neighbourliness that encourages and supports older people to socialise and stay active, helping them stay connected and well in later life.
In partnership with residents Neighbours Together will help identify and promote a range of social activities and events for our diverse ageing population. To make it easier to find out what social activities are available for older people the number of community distribution points for the popular What’s On Guide will be increased and easy-to-use online tools will be developed.
If you’re interested in volunteering for your community then give Neighbours Together a call to find out more and how you can get involved. Contact the team on 01923 606447 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
